Egyptian player Hosni Abd Rabou: “Algeria deserves qualification to the World Cup… We must encourage Desert Warriors”

Player of the Egyptian team Hosni Abd Rabou said Algeria deserves qualification to the World Cup South Africa, asserting that the Desert Warriors were able to succeed which means they deserve it.  

• Hosni Abd Rabou said Algerian coach Saadane is a good representative of Arabs and is able to bring back memories of Gijon World Cup.

• “As long as Algeria is in the list of 32 teams to participate in the World Cup 2010 it deserves respect. I wish Algerians would show a good performance like the one they did in 1982. We hope they will go beyond expectations”.

• These statements by the player of Al Ahli Emirate club to the MBC channel added to the list of Egyptian players who came out against their coach Chahata and quasi-journalists who are still, at every opportunity, raise hatred among Egyptians against the Algerian team.

• Abd Rabou said he is the first supporter of Algerian team in the group C, due to the religious and historical links between the two people.

• “Yes, I’ll be the first Egyptian fan of Algeria during the World Cup, no discussion on this. Religion and history are all factors that oblige us as Arabs to support our only representative. I think that this question is ridiculous. It is a shame that some Egyptians talk about supporting USA or England against Algeria because it is a matter of representing Arabs and the image of Arab football abroad. Algerians are the ones who carry the Arab flag in the World Cup 2010”.
